Are you looking for something fun, family friendly and enjoyable to do these school holidays without breaking the bank? The IGA Perth Royal Show has you covered. Running from 27 September to 4 October, this year’s show will be bigger and better than ever!

Inaugurated in 1834, the Show has remained an iconic date on the WA calendar for more than 150 years. Attracting over 500,000 people to the Claremont Showgrounds each year, the Show offers hundreds of different showbags, a grand selection of exhilarating rides and heaps of culturally invigorating exhibits, agricultural competitions and live animal displays!

Other than a small entry fee, all major attractions are free to the public. What’s more, children aged 12 and under enter for free when accompanied by an adult. Thanks to the State Government of Western Australia, all you need to do is purchase an adult ticket for the accompanying adult and present this at the gate to enable free entry for any child aged 12 or younger.

Going to the Show won’t cost a small fortune if you plan your day How? Download the free Perth Royal Show Plan My Day mobile app from either the Google Play or iTunes store. The app, designed especially for the Show, has all the info you need to plan the greatest day (or days) of these school holidays. You can view rides and showbags, purchase discounted tickets, search for popular locations, and enter loads of cool competitions!

There are so many attractions for you to visit and activities for you to do, and the best thing is they are all free! Rides are an additional cost and vary between $4 – $10 per ride. Make sure you visit Bananas in Pyjamas at the Entertainment Theatre, Titan the Robot, and the WA Police Pavilion. Be sure to make your way to the LEGO Brick Zone where you can create a futuristic farm, a mega city, a space station, or anything you can imagine. Watch pigs race and dive, see cats and dogs on show, visit the City Farmers Animal Nursery, view the latest high tech farming equipment at Farmtech, see the world’s biggest pearl at Broome Guest Town, watch cows being milked at the Brownes Milking Station, and so, so much more…

Finally, don’t miss the IGA Fireworks Spectacular from 8pm each night. Join the crowd and watch in awe as tens of thousands of fireworks deliver a final burst of excitement to a fun-filled day at the Peters Drumstick Main Arena.
